The project originated from a specific brief: to redesign the guarding system of an automatic screen printing machine for glass and ceramic substrates, with the goal of elevating its market positioning without increasing production costs. A concrete case of industrial machine enclosure design, where aesthetics, engineering and manufacturing feasibility are developed as an integrated system.
The formal reference is car design: continuous surfaces, aerodynamic volumes and a chromatic graphic language built to give the machine a distinctive and immediately recognizable identity.
Two color bands run across the steel surfaces, defining the visual hierarchy of the assembly. Blue accent lines mark the edges of the primary forms, adding dynamism without overloading the overall composition.
The result is a formal language that marks a clear discontinuity from the conventional geometries of the sector relevant both for the end client and for the markets in which the machine is presented.

The project was developed according to a rigorous design-to-cost approach applied to industrial machinery: every material and construction choice was oriented toward efficiency from the conceptual phase, without compromising the final aesthetic quality.
The transition from stainless steel to painted carbon steel reduced material costs while maintaining durability and machinability. Geometries were optimized to minimize welding and fitting operations, with a direct impact on production time and costs.
Polycarbonate is used selectively in the upper section, where it serves a precise technical and visual function, without extending its use to areas where it generates no additional value.
On the accessibility front, the enclosure design features differentiated access points: full access for routine maintenance, restricted access to the most critical components. A system that meets safety standards without compromising daily operability.
The metal fabrication was carried out by Formest, a specialist partner in steel structure manufacturing for industrial machinery.
